Jasmine has always been associated with women.
During the last decade, it has become
disgraceful for men to wear jasmine
headpieces, with the exception of graduation celebrations, weddings and some
other events. Otherwise, when a young man wears a jasmine headband, he is
perceived as a criminal, homosexual or effeminate.
